If you have a toddler, I’m sure you’re aware that most of the time they don't have the most extravagant pallets. Picky eaters are hard to please, but with this simple recipe you can ensure that your child is getting the vitamins and minerals they need to help support their growing little bodies, and they won't even realize it's healthy!
This bite sized snack is great for when you are starting to introduce new foods to your little one. Protein is something that can be a challenge to get your child to eat, and sometimes the texture of ingredients like oatmeal can make your child turn their nose up to something so healthy and delicious. This recipe is one I found on Pinterest a while back and I will admit that I make them for myself. So if you’re looking for a yummy snack for everyone to enjoy, look no further!
4 Ingredient Oatmeal Bites:
1 ¼ cup of oats
½ cup of peanut butter
1 vanilla yogurt (single serving)
1 tsp. of cinnamon
Blend the oats until they are close to the consistency of flour. I throw mine right into my bullet and give it a few pulses. If you are interested and have a smaller one, I would recommend using the same amount of baby cereal in replacement of the oats! No need to blend the baby cereal.
Add in the peanut butter, vanilla yogurt and cinnamon and mix until fully combined. If the mixture is too sticky, add in some more blended oats or baby cereal. You want to be able to roll the mixture into balls
Roll the mixture into tiny balls. If you are nervous about a choking hazard I would suggest using a spoon to push down and flatten the ball.
Once you’ve completed the balls and made them the size you'd like, you are able to store them in your refrigerator for about a week. If you’re making a big batch you can also freeze them and then defrost as needed. They contain yogurt, so please store them in the fridge. This snack is healthy and delicious. We add in mini chocolate chips so my cousin thinks they're dessert!
